A tank top that silk transforms completely From a distance, it's a brown tank top. Up close, two things set it apart: the jersey, which is not ordinary cotton but a cotton and silk blend, and the fine chain of silver beads sewn along the V-neckline and all around the armholes. It's jewellery integrated into the garment, which means you don't need to wear anything else. The Wearing Experience A hand that glides : the 10% silk is enough to transform the jersey from matte to fluid. A neckline that holds its shape : the V-neckline is bordered with a bound edge, it won't stretch during washing. Beads that follow the armhole : the silver chain doesn't stop at the neckline, it also goes around each arm. A longer back : the hem is rounded and drops slightly lower at the back, it covers when you bend over. Craftsmanship & Fabric Composition: 90% cotton, 10% silk. This proportion is more subtle than it appears. Ten per cent silk is not enough to make a silk garment, but it is quite enough to change the surface of the yarn: silk is a continuous fibre, very smooth, it reflects light where cotton diffuses it. The result is that the jersey takes on a dull sheen, slightly satin-like in appearance, and glides over the skin instead of catching. The ornament itself is hand-mounted on the finished edge. It is not a glued braid or a print: a chain of small round silver beads is sewn stitch by stitch along the V-neckline, then continued all around both armholes. This continuous path, from the neckline to the arms, is what creates the illusion of wearing a necklace and a bracelet at the same time.
