Silk Twilly Blue Porcelain Blue and white porcelain vases, flowers and pagoda scenes succeed one another on the ribbon, between two blue lattice lines. Derived from the Blue Porcelain square, this twilly retains the Canton decoration. The twilly is a silk ribbon folded lengthwise, with tapered points: it wraps around a bag handle, ties around the neck as a fine tie, around the wrist as a bracelet or in the hair on a ponytail. It is the lightest and easiest to wear silk accessory in the range. The Wearing Experience Blue and white: a summer twilly on a straw bag, winter on a navy bag. The vases in a line read like a shelf of porcelain unrolled at the wrist. Wrapped in a spiral on a bag handle, it holds without slipping: the silk grips itself and the flat knot finishes the spiral. Around the neck, it ties in a small knot on the side or as a fine tie under a collar: two turns are enough. Craftsmanship & Material The Blue Porcelain twilly is printed in Italy on a natural silk twill 100% silk, the same tight weave with discrete diagonal that our 90 squares, recognizable by its dense hand and resistance to wrinkles. The printing is done in high definition, which restores the engraving line of the drawing, then fixed to withstand hand washing. The edges are hand-rolled: rolled and sewn by needle, never machine-overcast. The twilly is printed on a strip of twill of 12 cm, then folded in two lengthwise and rolled at its edges: the finished ribbon is 6 cm wide and 90 cm long, with the two points cut on the bias. The design is composed for the half visible once folded, and reads on both sides. To understand what distinguishes a twill from a silk satin, we have detailed our criteria in silk square, twill or satin . Style Tips On the handle of a basket or straw bag, tied in a loop. Around the neck, on a white dress, in a small knot. In the hair, as a fine headband on a bun. This ribbon is found throughout the collection of silk twillys , derived from our square designs. All formats are gathered in the Misciano silk square collection . To go further: the art of the scarf to enhance an outfit . Care for Your Piece The twilly washes flat in a few minutes, dries flat by pulling the points, and hardly needs ironing: it is the simplest silk piece to maintain. Cold water, mild soap, no prolonged soaking or wringing; flat drying away from the sun, ironing on the reverse at low temperature, dry iron. The steps are detailed in hand washing a silk square .
